MICROPEN SKIN NEEDLING

WHAT IS AUTOMATED MICROPEN SKIN NEEDLING?  

Automated Micro-Needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles. Eclipse MicropenTM also creates superficial micro-channels which allow topical gels, creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The benefits of micro-needling are a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. Eclipse MicropenTM also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks and generally creates a fresher appearance or glow to the skin. 

 

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?   

Although you will definitely see visible results after your first treatment, a series of 6 to 8 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is recommended to start, with maintenance treatments recommended every 6 to 12 weeks. The effects of Microneedling are cumulative and continuous as the skin rejuvenates naturally over several months. Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6 to 12 months after a course of treatments when you follow the recommended post-treatment care regimen.

DO I NEED TO PREPARE MY SKIN ?

It is advised 4 weeks prior to the procedure:  All clients use –C Tetra, Retinol for at least 4 weeks pre- and post- treatment. Ultimate Recovery cream and obagi hydrate/HYDRATELUX is recommended to keep skin soft and hydrated. Because it help speed the skins recovery process. 

THICK SKIN – 1 or 2 superficial peels are a great way in ensure a skin needling treatments yields the best collagen building results.                     

HYPERPIGMENTATION – OBAGI RX SYSTEM/ NU-DERM SYSTEM  for a minimum of 2 weeks before their procedure appointment

EASILY BRUISED SKIN -Healite LED light therapy or topical vitamin K all over the treatment area for 1‐2 days before each Skin Needling treatment and continue for 2‐3 days post treatment. Arnica tablets 3 days prior and 3 days post treatment.

• avoid aspirin(or blood thinners) for 2 weeks before treatment 

• avoid sun exposure and retinoids to the treated area for 24 hours before your treatment

 

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER THE TREATMENTS?  

The skin may experience slight to moderate redness, sensitivity to touch, itchiness and tightness and a sensation of heat. Slight tracking may occur if the skin is slack for 12 to 48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Microneedling is a safe and effective anti-aging solution with minimal discomfort and no downtime.

 

CONTRAINDICATIONS

• Keloid or raised scarring, scars less than 6 months old

• History of eczema, psoriasis, herpes simplex infections

• Presence of raised moles, warts or any raised lesions on targeted area

• History of diabetes, cardiac abnormalities, blood clotting issues

• Not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing
