Our expert nurse uses dermal fillers to shape and augment your cheekbones which also lifts the face and fills out any hollowness or loss of volume. The end result is a fresher, defined and more youthful appearance. If you suffer from under-eye hollowness, loss of volume our cheek enhancement can also be combined with tear trough fillers to refresh and rejuvenate the mid-face as well as under eye area.

WHAT DOES PROCEDURE INVOLVE?

Prior to the treatment : After a thorough consultation with our expert nurses, if required a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied for 15-30 minutes to numb the area.

The procedure : The treatment begins with cleaning the skin. The product will then be injected to the area using a needle, micro-cannulla or both (depending on the type of treatment) at different points around the midface region. This will result in enhancement of the size, shape and definition of the cheekbones as well as providing a lifted effect to the face.

Post treatment : You should avoid touching or applying make up on the treated area for at least 6 hours in order to prevent infection. Specific post treatment instructions will be given to you on the day of your treatment by our expert nurses.

The results are immediate and lasts for around 6-18 months depending on the used product and area injected. As the results are relatively temporary, adjustments can be made as your face changes over time and you will always retain a natural look.

Which type of dermal filler is used to for cheek enhancement?

The most common dermal filler used for the cheek area is Hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is one of nature’s most versatile and fascinating substances. It is found throughout the body as well as in most other living organisms. It has many functions, for example, giving the skin elasticity, providing our skin with volume and also giving it a youthful appearance.

Dermal fillers are sterile gel, consisted of non-animal, cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and are created in a laboratory environment. They contain no human or animal DNA as well as it is the only type of filler that is reversible. Hence, hyaluroni-acid fillers have the best possible safety profile on the market.

These products are FDA & TGA approved.

Who should NOT use Dermal filler?

It is not recommended to use dermal fillers if you are pregnant or breast feeding

How can I avoid bruising?

To avoid swelling and bruising, you should:

Not take aspirin, exedrin, ibuprofen, aleve or advil for 1 week before and 2 days after treatment. Tylenol/Panadol are fine
Not take Vitamin E (multivitamin ok) or St. John’s Wort for 2-3 days before or after
Avoid exercise except for walking for 24 hours after the procedure
Take arnica tablets up to 2 weeks prior to the treatment
