WHAT IS PRP?
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy
ALL SKIN TYPES AND CONDITIONS
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a very natural cosmetic skin rejuvenation treatment, otherwise known as the “Vampire” lift. uses your own blood to harvest concentrated plasma, which is rich in platelets. This treatment uses your own ‘enriched’ plasma as an advanced anti-aging and healing treatment delivered to the skin in a process similar to mesotherapy. The secret lies in extracting and increasing the autological factors in your blood. These autological factors are what your body needs to heal itself. PRP Therapy re-activates the autological factors in your body’s repair system getting your skin to regenerate more efficiently.
Using PRP Therapy as an anti-aging facial treatment is highly effective. This natural and safe treatment uses your own blood, which is extracted and enriched (with no chemicals or additives) in an easy and comfortable process and is then re-injected into your face through several ‘meso-type’ tiny injections. The benefits of this approach are the natural and self-healing effects of regenerated skin, improved skin vitality, improved sun damaged skin, and better skin hydration.
What skin conditions can be treated with PRP injections?
Platelet-rich plasma can treat a wide number of skin conditions, including the following:
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Uneven or dull skin tone
-
Dehydrated and dry skin

The Treatment Process
Initially, you will have a consultation to determine the indications you have for treatment, your background medical history and also to explain the treatment fully to you. We will also take photographs of you as a record of your appearance before starting treatment.
For your actual treatment appointment, you should allow around 45-60 minutes in total. Initially, we will apply a local anaesthetic cream over the face and any other treatment areas. We will then take a small blood sample, approximately 8 to 20 mls, usually from your arm. This is exactly the same procedure as you would have done at your GP surgery if you need a blood test.
This sample is then put into a machine called a centrifuge which spins the blood very quickly for 10 minutes, separating it into its component parts.
The richest platelet part of the now separated plasma (PRP) is then safely and painlessly re-injected into the skin. For extra efficiency, the platelets are further infused into the skin with skin needling. This immediately activates growth factors and stem cells, triggering rejuvenation that will result in renewed, youthful and vibrant skin.
Is PRP therapy safe?
Treatment with platelet-rich plasma uses your own blood. Because of this, the risk of allergy or cellular rejection is eliminated, making PRP one of the safest and most tolerable procedures currently available.
We care about the patient experience, which is why we ensure that each and every PRP session is conducted in a way that ensures maximum comfort.
We’ll apply anaesthetic when necessary and perform the treatment slowly and gently, minimising pain and discomfort.
How many treatments are required?
A minimum of 3 platelet rich plasma treatments* are usually recommended.
some people may need up to 6 treatments* and ongoing maintenance treatment may be performed every six to twelve months
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) + Microneedling
The use of Growth Factors and Platelet Rich Plasma (which is the basis for the “Vampire Lift”) with Micro-Needling improves the results of micro needling. The reason is this; growth factors are important for new cell generation and cellular functions, such as creating new collagen and elastic fibres. Growth factors come in many different varieties and are extremely abundant in our platelets. (These are the small cellular particles in our blood that stop up small blood vessels when we get cut.) Each platelet has 3 different granule types which are released when they are activated. These 3 granules have a wide assortment of growth factors and factors that attract stem cells to the area.
Typically a series of 4
As your skin is healing, although this procedure has minimal downtime, the growth factors in a higher concentration that would normally be found induces extra collagen, new cells and increased normal vascularity of the skin. This has a profound effect on the look of our skin.
Microneedling will create access for platelets to enter the skin. The platelet growth factors nor any other growth factors would be of no benefit if just rubbed on the skin. Once the platelet is deep in the skin their granules are activated and wonderful things start to happen. microneedling sessions are performed and Platelet Rich Plasma or a single growth factor can be used. Each is performed every 4-8 weeks. Remember the downtime is really small. Most people are using make-up by the second day. By stacking these needling in a series of every 2-3 weeks there is an additive effect in collagen production and collagen contraction. Usually, 8 to 12 weeks after the series is complete the results are seen. we recommend performing a single maintenance needling every 4 to 5 month. It is best to perform microneedling at least 2 weeks after you have had a botox treatment.

PRP The power of growth factors
Growth factors and stem cells also increase cellular turnover and collagen production, which is the foundation of youthful, glowing and radiant skin.
-
Stimulating collagen formation
-
Forming new blood vessels
-
Reorganising cells and skin tissue
These effects result in an improved skin tone, colour and texture, as well as smoothed lines and a softened appearance of wrinkles. In addition to these benefits, the injected area will also experience an increase in hydration, helping to keep skin soft, healthy and vibrant. These benefits are a direct result of growth factors, which control the body’s wound healing mechanism. When growth factors are stimulated by a PRP treatment, collagen production is boosted, helping to improve the appearance of ageing related skin damage, including wrinkles, scarring and fine lines.
